Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from:
- Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required.
- Experience and/or training in recreational services preferred.

- Provides care in a manner that demonstrates the principles of appropriate choice, dignity, privacy, independence, and individuality.
- Ensures the performance of recreational services as specified in the Care/Service Plan.
- Facilitating and encouraging Resident advocacy.
- Using the available resources, the Recreation Aide is responsible for audits and reports, providing and evaluating the delivery of recreational services based on the Resident Care Plan & Service Plan.
- Supports the residents in identifying personal leisure barriers.
- Follows the Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety.
- Assisting with daily life and duties within the Community.
- Exhibits excellent customer relations by being courteous, professional, compassionate, and respectful to all.
- Participates in projects and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain appropriate levels of certification.
