Under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant, the Support Clerk is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support in the Assets and Project Management Department.
**As the **_Support Clerk,_** you will**:
- Answer incoming phone calls, receive mail and distribute to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Greet visitors, answer and refer simple inquiries to appropriate contact for response.
- Assist in booking conference rooms for City Staff.
- Maintains stationery and office supplies.
- Performs routine word processing and correspondence in a professional format as required.
- Other duties consistent with the classification as required.
**Your education and qualifications include**:
- Grade 12 or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience providing clerical and administrative support in an office setting.
- Experience using a computer and MS Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Experience preparing various correspondence and documents.
- Ability to type 40 wpm.
- Ability to effectively deal with potentially stressful situations.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Willing and able to take and successfully complete additional training and instruction.
