Production Planner

**Purpose of Job**:
- The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring that we have the right parts, at the right place, at the right time. This involves effective communication with our customers, creating a realistic achievable production plan, and maintaining accurate system data while collaborating with various departments within Hydra Dyne Tech (HDT) to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are met.
**Principal Accountabilities**:
- Monitor customer portals for new orders, updates, and cancellations.
- Accurate input of customer orders into the HDT ERP System.
- Engage with customers to provide updates on order status, pricing, and delivery.
- Evaluate customer orders and forecast to develop production plans.
- Optimize supply efficiency by maintaining lot sizes and reorder points.
- Release work orders and track progress through production.
- Proactively identify, report, and devise solutions for potential delays.
- Reconcile order, inventory, and system data to ensure accuracy.
- Close work orders and ensure quantities and supporting documents are correctly recorded.
- Prepare pick list for order fulfilment.
- Create packing slips, invoices, customs paperwork, and arrange transportation for shipment.
- Complete Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs) as required.
- Leverage software tools to analyse data and create comprehensive reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Health and Safety Responsibilities**:
- Wear all required PPE while in plant.
- Work safe & ergonomically by following H&S policies.
- Report any unsafe acts, conditions, or accidents across the plant.
- Report accidents, near misses, injuries, or illnesses immediately to your supervisor.
- Inspect equipment and the workplace regularly.
- Be alert for hazards.
- Cooperate with others on matters relating to occupational safety and health.
**Knowledge, Skills and Education**:
**Required**
- Post-Secondary school diploma in Supply Chain or Business Management OR 2 + years experience in a production planning role
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and specifically Excel.
- Effective organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail with learning desire and aptitude.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, self-starter, independent worker.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
**Desired**
- Knowledge of production process, quality control, costing, and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
- Strong ERP/MRP and Microsoft Office experience.
- ASCM CPIM certification.
