Crane Operator

Henry Drilling is one of the largest drilling companies in Western Canada and has the most modern drilling fleet in British Columbia. We have more than 30 years experience in the drilling business, and our specialty is tackling jobs that few other companies can do.
We are seeking **Crane Operators (crawler cranes)** to join our team and work on various drilling sites across the Greater Vancouver Area. Please note that most of the work is performed in Vancouver, British Columbia. Rotational schedule can be arranged.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Operate mobile cranes to lift, move or place equipment and materials.
- Calculate crane capacities, determine load weight, and set up, position, and stabilize the crane before the lift.
- Perform pre-operational inspection and ensure equipment maintenance is being done in a timely manner.
- Read material such as specialized and technical manuals, interpret complex texts, use specialized knowledge.
- Ensure manufacturers recommendations and procedures are being followed.
- Identify potential issues or equipment problems that may arise.
- Responsible for machine maintenance and foreman reports.
- Responsible for notifying management when not comfortable with a job.
- Practice workplace safety.
- Adhere to all policies and instructions provided in HFDI Operating Manuals and standard work procedures.
- Maintain a positive public image of the company with appropriate personal conduct and by operating company vehicles and equipment in a safe, professional, and courteous manner.
- Train staff, as necessary.
- Performs general labour work when necessary.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Employment Requirements**:
- Mobile Crane Operator Red Seal Certification.
- Completion of secondary school.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Class 5 driver’s License.
- Ability to drive daily within the Greater Vancouver Area.
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**:
- Ability to detect problems and report such information to appropriate personnel.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must follow safety principles and practices.
**Working Conditions**:
- Working outside in all weather conditions.
- Repetitive tasks with few breaks.
- Exposure to dust, mud, and other unpleasant irritants.
- Hazards in the workplace.
- Frequent overtime, early starts, late finishes.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
