Boston Earthworks is currently hiring hardworking and experienced **Utility Crew Pipelayers **for projects located in Kelowna & West Kelowna. You have an opportunity to be an integral member of our team with opportunities for growth and professional development. We specialize in residential, multi-family and civil construction.

**Responsibilities**:

- Reliable, with a valid driver’s license and your own transportation
- Experience working in shored trenches installing various pipe types
- Install various types (Ductile Iron, PVC, Concrete, HDPE, Hydro/Tel, installation of manholes, catch basins etc.) of underground utilities to the local specifications.
- Ensure back fill and compaction around pipe to ensure proper positioning and support
- Ensure utilities are being installed at the correct grade and elevations.
- Support the safe assembly and use of trench shoring systems
- Good communicator and enjoys working on a team
- Work safely on a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
- Train other employees and maintain quality results of work

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years experience as a pipe layer.
- Certifications an asset: first aid, confined space, utility locating, rigging, etc.
- Experience in civil utilities including storm, sanitary sewer, water, and hydro
- Understand elevations and grading.
- Experience using pipe and rotary lasers
- Thorough understanding of construction procedures
- Able to identify all hazards associated with various aspects of working in civil projects, as well as correctly communicate safety issues as they arise
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and equally motivated working independently.
- Self-motivated and dependable with a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities.
