RJ Maclean is hiring an HSA Representative for seasonal, turn-around projects. This role involves ensuring RJ MacLean complies with regulations and legislation while exceeding client expectations. The position entails developing and maintaining an effective health and safety management system to protect employees, subcontractors, the public, the environment, and company assets from hazardous actions and conditions.

**Safety & Compliance**
- Remain current with legislative requirements for the jurisdiction where RJM conducts work activities
- Assist in the development of site-specific ERPs
- Conduct site orientations, weekly safety meetings, safety talks and site inspections with staff and subcontractors, ensuring that all safety compliance is met
- Review and sign off Target Zeros
- Audit paperwork to ensure it is being completed and completed correctly
- Maintain company programs compliance with provincial and federal regulations, COR, and client specific requirements
- In conjunction with the HSE team ensure active Employees training is current and coordinate recertifications as required to stay compliant

**Operations & Job Execution**
- Champion pre-qualification of subcontractors' evaluations/receiving all required paperwork and scoring before hiring, working closely with Admin to ensure all paperwork is current in the tracker and subcontractor KPIs are being logged
- Prepare job binders for projects
- File physical copies of paperwork at the shop/office
- Assist in the annual COR audit and auditing the RJ MacLean HSMS
- Revise and construct SOPs and Work Instructions based on the determined QC format
- Assist with development of JSAs / HSE Polices / Procedures / Manual
- Completion of Project Scorecards and maintain monthly statistics
- Participate in incident investigations, incident reporting and complete corrective actions
- Monitoring Work Hub compliance, and document upload
- Complete, maintain and communicate site specific requirements and documentation
- Help mainstream competency assessments
- Meet weekly with HSE team, update on tasks and bring forth concerns/ideas

**Staff Leadership & Development**
- Champion the mentorship program

**Budget & Cost Control**
- Cost-savings by proactively scheduling expiring certifications
- Making fiscally responsible decisions

**Customer Relations & Business Development**
- Demonstrating professional technical expertise when interacting with clients
- Clear and timely communication between clients and vendors

**What Skills and Training Do You Need?**
- Certificate Occupational Health and Safety. NSCO Certification preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in safety, particularly in the oil & gas industry.
- Strong computer skills - experience with Microsoft products and google drive.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated to work independently, as well as a strong team member.
- Lead by example while in the field and the shop.
- Hands-on approach to learn and build positive relationships in the company.
- Highly motivated and proactive; eagerly accepting new challenges and working under mínimal supervision
