We are seeking a
**Laboratory Technician, Microbiology **for our Edmonton location. This position provides the opportunity to work for a growing company, achieve promotions within the organization and cross-train in a variety of microbial and analytical chemistry techniques.
**This is a 6 month contract.**
Reporting to the Manager-Chemistry, the Laboratory Technician Microbiology will be responsible for the following:
- Routine testing of client supplied samples in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Performs daily balance verifications
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly verifications
- Prepare media and cultures
- Weigh samples
- Maintain records of raw data in Labs-Mart lab notebook
- Maintain the microbiology lab in clean and working order
- Adhere to regulatory guidelines, including GMP and ISO17025
- Other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements:
- **
Required**: BSc in Microbiology or equivalent experience
- Experience with bacterial cultures
- Working knowledge of GMP/or ISO17025 guidelines
- Ability to multi-task
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work in a fast-based environment to meet deadlines
- Work independently and as part of a team
