**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a visionary **Chef de cuisine** to lead the culinary operations of **The Wellington Hotel** in the heart of **Prince Edward County opening summer 2025**. This small luxury hotel, inspired by the golden age of travel and infused with modern sophistication, will offer a unique experience defined by exceptional service, indulgent culinary offerings, and beautifully designed suites.
As part of the vibrant Prince Edward County community, known for its rich local food scene and world-class wineries, our food and beverage program will emphasize seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, creative shareable plates, and an extensive wine and cocktail menu. With stunning outdoor dining spaces and a versatile lawn perfect for weddings and events, the Chef de cuisine will play a central role in shaping our reputation as a culinary destination.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Culinary Leadership**
- Develop, execute, and oversee all menus, with a focus on seasonal, locally sourced, and shareable dishes that showcase the best of Prince Edward County’s culinary bounty.
- Lead the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences, from casual al fresco meals to high-end event catering.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, and innovation.
**Operational Management**
- Oversee all kitchen operations, including inventory, purchasing, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Manage kitchen schedules, staff training, and performance evaluations to build a strong, motivated team.
**Collaboration & Strategy**
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Property Management to align the culinary vision with the Wellington Hotel’s identity and guest expectations.
- Design wine and cocktail pairings that complement the food menu, leveraging Prince Edward County’s renowned wineries and craft beverage producers.
- Partner with the events team to create bespoke menus for weddings, cocktail parties, and other celebrations.
**Guest Experience**
- Engage with guests to gather feedback and adapt offerings to meet and exceed expectations.
- Create memorable culinary moments that enhance the overall guest experience, ensuring every dish tells a story.
**Sustainability & Community**
- Build strong relationships with local farmers, wineries, and artisans to champion fresh, sustainable ingredients.
- Integrate eco-friendly practices into all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Highlight Prince Edward County’s unique culinary and cultural heritage in the menu.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as an Chef de cuisine or Head Chef in a luxury hotel, refined dining restaurant, or similar high-end setting.
- A creative and innovative approach to menu design and food presentation, with a passion for local and seasonal cuisine.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to inspire and develop a talented culinary team.
- Knowledge of culinary trends, sustainable practices, and the unique opportunities of working in Prince Edward County.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and meet financial goals.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
