We are currently looking for a Part-Time Driver with a minimum AR licence to join our team at our New Lowell office. **Duties and Responsibilities**
- Transportation of mass timber materials to and from specified locations
- Safely load material on to trailer for delivery
- Maintain an accurate record of all pick-ups and drop-offs
- Plan driving routes to ensure goods are delivered to site on time
- Regularly inspect and maintain company truck and trailer to ensure that it meets all safety regulations
- Regularly communicate with head office with respect to completed deliveries and/or delays
- Wash and clean the company truck as needed to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Promptly notify the supervisor of any major mechanical issues, traffic violations and accidents involving the company truck
- Maintain daily equipment logs
- Perform pre-departure checks
- Follow all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation including but not limited to logbooks, weight restrictions, cargo securement and Highway Traffic Act regulations
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid minimum class AR licence
- Minimum 2 years driving with a fully loaded 40’ trailer preferred
- Current Driver background check
- Proven experience driving heavy-duty trucks
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations
- The ability to use GPS devices and road maps
- Strong driving skills
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to drive safely in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
- Willingness and ability to travel out of town to perform work is necessary
