Over 39 years later, Mastermind Toys is the nation’s largest specialty toy and children’s bookstore, and we deeply believe that “Play is Kids’ Work".** We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to provide technical accounting and analysis support to the Accounting, Accounts Payable and Receivable functions. This position is expected to be **part-time and in-office 2 days a week**. **Responsibilities**: - Accounts Receivable:_ - Reconciles daily method of payment transactions (Debit, Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Shopify, PayPal) to sales reporting system. - Isolates and investigates discrepancies by researching sales reports. - Works with Store Operations, retail locations and third-party providers (Fiserv, Amex) as required to resolve discrepancies. - Creates and maintains daily sales reports, tracking overages and shortages (variances between sales and expected deposits) - Researches all credit card disputes, prepares and submits necessary paperwork to dispute claims. - Posts entries to record weekly bank deposits and clear corresponding receivables. - Provides backup support for Customer Service corporate orders, through invoice creation. - Checks trade references and sets up all new customers. - Reviews aged trial balance monthly and follows up on unpaid accounts more than 30 days old. - Provides reconciliation of credit card receivable balances and other schedules, to assist with monthly reporting to bank. - Accounts Payable:_ - Sets up all new vendors and makes changes to vendor information as required. - Sets up all electronic payments during weekly pay runs, including EFT and wires, and provides all payment confirmations. - Posts entries to record weekly wire payments. - Checks for past discrepancies in payment, checks invoice amounts and banking information for accuracy, maintains payment tracker. - Accounting:_ - Reconciles prepaid inventory, investigates and clears any discrepancies. - Assists in publishing daily cash position, posting of daily cash entries, and daily reconciliations of bank accounts. - Provides reporting of various financial information including sales, inventory and rebates, through leveraging excel and BI (Business Intelligence), both on a recurring and ad-hoc basis. - Assists in running various financial packages and P&L reports during month-end. - Completes and reports monthly/annual sales to designated landlords. - Supports interim and year-end financial audits as needed. - Mastermind Toys is committed to accommodating applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment and selection process.
