Job Title: Operations Lead at Calnash Ag Event Centre

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day operational activities at the Calnash Ag Event Centre.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all events, including setup, teardown, and maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with staff, event organizers, vendors, and visitors to ensure a positive experience for all parties involved.
- Handle people-oriented situations with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
- Prioritize and manage workloads efficiently, delegating tasks as necessary.
- Identify and address operational issues promptly and effectively.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
- Coordinate or perform basic maintenance tasks, such as electrical work, plumbing, and welding.
- Operate machinery such as f skid steer, tractors, grooming equipment, dump truck, scissor lift for various event setup requirements, facility operations and maintenance.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the agricultural or equine industry, as applicable to event operations.
- Familiarize oneself with the ground requirements for different equine events and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with team members to improve operational processes and enhance overall efficiency.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising event center staff, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform any other related duties or special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

- Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle people-oriented situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage workloads effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address issues promptly.
- Knowledge and experience in electrical work, plumbing, and welding are assets.
- Proficiency in operating tractors and skid steers is required.
- Familiarity with the agricultural or equine industry is preferred.
- Understanding of the ground requirements for different equine events is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
- Physically capable of performing manual labor and lifting heavy objects.
- Previous experience in a similar role or event management is desirable.

**Salary**: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
