Shift Details

Start time between 4:00 AM - 6:00 AM

4 to 5 Days per week

Position Overview

The AZ Local Delivery Driver will be responsible for covering delivery shifts out of Ottawa.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products.- Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift)- Build and maintain good customer relationships. Demonstrates self-control.- Accurately collects customer payments. Safeguards company funds and follows GFS banking policies.- Performs all Sales Service functions by the 90th day of employment.- Performs proper equipment maintenance, monitors reefer temperature, and reports mechanical issues and damages in a timely manner.- Completes daily check-ins in a timely manner with no errors.- Collaborates with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns.- Perform daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles and equipment. Completes check in process accurately and on time. Manages paperwork to include register, credits, pick-ups, etc- Develops and maintains a good working relationship with other GFS employees.- Maintains peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas. Attending department meetings- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract- Proven ability of lifting, pushing and pulling up to 80 lbs- Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification- Excellent customer service skills- Strong mechanical aptitude- A high level of integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision and be self-directed- Professional demeanor under stressful situations- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment- High School Diploma or equivalent- Availability for weekends
