**Position Summary**

The Johansson Research Group focuses on multiple projects at the intersections of mental health, climate change and incarceration. Ongoing projects include examinations of wildland firefighter mental health in the context of climate change, and the impact of climate change on Indigenous firefighters and communities in Alberta. Future projects include provider perspectives of medical assistance in dying for mental health issues, the provision of care in hospital settings to incarcerated persons, and historical examination of Alberta’s eugenics program.

**Duties**

Prepare for and set up research activities:

- Identify research and development funding opportunities
- Design and review study materials

Manage multiple research protocols:

- Refine, implement and communicate study protocols and procedures
- Manage study budgets and projections, including reconciliation, preparing expense claims, and invoices for payment
- Foster/maintain relationships with project collaborators

Coordinate and assist with communication pertaining to studies/projects and activities of the Principal Investigator
- Coordinate regular meetings with multiple parties
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes
- Coordinate and assist with the orientation and ongoing development of research team members
- Coordinate participant recruitment, data collection, data management and analysis of several studies/projects.

**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree required
- Current or previous experience in a registered or licensed nursing profession (RN, RPN, LPN, or equivalent) required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cohesively with team members
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication (written and verbal) skills, with high attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as a team member, and able to perform well in settings that require multitasking and a flexible work schedule.
- Proficient in using information systems and programs including bibliographic management software (e.g., EndNote) and Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
