Junior Buyer

**ROLE SUMMARY**
The junior buyer will work in tandem with internal departments such as planning, sales and manufacturing to ensure the right product is brought in at the right time. The scope of the buyer will be procurement for USA branches and category buying for the Langley location.
The buyer will spend significant time placing orders, follow-ups and identifying gaps in the processes. The role will require analytics with guidance from the strategic buyer.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Review internal requisitions and requests from various departments and USA branches.
- Release purchase orders with North American and overseas vendors.
- Regular follow ups with vendor on status of orders.
- Monitor open orders and expediting delayed orders.
- Responsible in timely communication of order delays and identifying causes for the delays.
- Responding to internal inquiries pertaining to placed orders.
- Resolve any vendor related issue like non-conformity, late shipments and damage to product.
- Through the support of the strategic buyer transition the task of replenishment of part numbers with minimums and maximums.
- Work closely with accounting department to resolve discrepancy in pricing.

**EXPERIENCE**
- You have a high school diploma and/or a business/supply chain certification.
- You have at least an internship or have experience working in an office environment
- You have basic knowledge of excel with scope for development.
- You have a good attitude to work collectively with internal departments.

**Experience**:
- purchasing: 1 year (preferred)
