**Job description**

Tapestry at Victoria Harbour is our newest community on Vancouver Island. At Tapestry, residents live healthy, engaged, purposeful and socially connected lives and experience personalized, resident-centric service. The Cook 1 is a seasoned culinary professional responsible for planning, prep, set-up, greeting the residents in the restaurant, discussing the menu, entering the order in the POS system, delivering the food and ensuring quality service in all areas of food production including, but not limited to daily features, special events and displays/presentations. The Cook 1, who assists with the supervision and training of the Cook 2 and other kitchen employees in the absence of management, must have excellent communication skills, a complete understanding of basic food preparation skill sets, and the ability to perform these tasks error free in accordance with the company’s quality standards. The Cook 1 will Adhere to established policies and procedures, as well as health department, sanitation, and safety practices, and maintain kitchen area cleanliness standards. **Qualifications & Requirements**:

- High school diploma preferred
- Minimum of three to five years of cooking experience in a fast-paced, commercial kitchen environment with a strong focus on delivering a superior culinary and customer experience
- Food Safe Level 1 certification preferred
- Pursuing Red Seal certification preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable interacting in the Restaurant
- Interested in working in a professional environment guided by an experienced and passionate Executive Chef

**Compensation**

Tapestry offers a very attractive total compensation package (wage and comprehensive benefit package including vision, dental and virtual doctor consultation) and is located in beautiful Victoria, near public transit and parking options.
