**Copcan Civil**, part of NorLand Limited, is an award-winning civil construction company, operating from offices in Nanaimo, Victoria, Kelowna, and Rossland. The company has been in business since 1970 and has successfully completed projects throughout Vancouver Island and the BC Interior, including highways, bridge construction, underground utilities, demolitions, marine infrastructure projects, private development, and various municipal works.

We are in search of **_Civil Forepersons_** in **Victoria and Nanaimo, BC** with extensive knowledge and experience in city, urban pipe laying, and road building.

***You will be accountable for**:

- Overseeing the safety and performance of crews on various and sometimes challenging projects
- Leading from the front lines: directing the work and being with your crew at all times
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to provide clear instructions to the crew
- Maintaining daily records including crew and equipment time, material receiving, productions, and summary of activity on site
- Providing training and ensuring the development of the crew
- Planning ahead with Superintendents to ensure materials and resources are in place ahead of the work
- Acting as a working foreperson if needed
- Always working in a safe and respectful manner on company and client job sites
- Operating as a productive member of a high functioning team
- 5+ years of experience leading crews on civil projects
- Safety knowledge and experience in construction industry (WorkSafe Regulations, industry best practices)
- Valid Driver’s License
- First aid is considered an asset
- Fit to work - ability to see, hear, walk, stand, and lift up to 50lbs
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Willing to work in varied weather conditions
- Willing to work extended hours as needed by project requirements
- Expected wage range: 39.32 - 43.00 per hour (exact compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal equity, and other criterion)_
