We currently have a **Regular Full Time **opportunity for a** **Manager, Labour Relations & Employee Relations **in the **Human Resources** department at Sunnybrook.

**_This role can be performed fully onsite or on a hybrid work from home model, in compliance with the Hospital’s Work from Home Policy._**

**Hours of Work**:
Monday - Friday, Flexibility for evenings and weekends

**Summary of Duties**:
**Reporting to the Director, Employee and Labour Relations**:

- Contribute to building and sustaining a comprehensive Labour Relations/Employee Relations strategy for Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre;
- Provide effective oversight and participation in the management of SHSC collective agreements;
- Provide expertise, support and strategic advice to HR Business Partners and Hospital Management in relation to potential or filed grievances, claims and unionized and non-unionized employee complaints, including complaints of harassment or discrimination;
- Support HR Business Partners, OHS and Hospital Management in resolving complex accommodation requests
- Management of grievances and labour arbitrations, being proactive to resolve issues before grievances are filed and matters proceed to litigation, whenever possible;
- Provide support to Hospital Management and Interprofessional Practice in escalation of ONA workload report process;
- Provide support to HR Business Partners in complex investigations pursuant to the Hospital’s policies;
- Facilitate resolution of conflicts with staff, management, physicians, students and volunteers;
- Contribute to the development and execution of education programs for leaders in matters pertaining to labour relations and employee relations;
- Provide analysis of and training for new and renewed collective agreements;
- Use leadership abilities to strategically engage the unions and management in strong partnerships with SHSC

**Qualifications/Skills**
- Post-secondary education in relation to Business and/or Labour Relations is an asset;
- CHRP designation is an asset
- Must have significant recent related experience in labour relations, preferably within Health Care;
- Proven strategic thinker with the ability to contribute to a comprehensive, proactive labour strategy;
- Demonstrated ability to advise and implement operational plans in a large, complex organization;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Proven ability to use leadership influence effectively;
- Innovative and resourceful;
- Demonstrated excellent conflict resolution skills, both as facilitator and mediator;
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and drive change in a complex organization;
- Superior investigative skills and ability;
- Proven ability to engage others and work collaboratively as part of the LR team;
- Demonstrated solution orientation
