The School of Cities at the University of Toronto is one of a kind, created to address the pressing issues facing urban areas to better cities and urban regions. **Your opportunity**:
Under the supervision of the Academic Director and Executive Director, the Videographer will be responsible for determining the best format to engage audiences, and be responsible for the entire life cycle of a video product, from storyboarding, filming, editing, sound editing, animation, and post-production - both short and long form. The role of the Videographer will demonstrate a keen understanding of urban issues, and help us to focus on broadening the reach of scholarly work to affect changes in public understanding and awareness of critical urban issues, leading to policy improvements, community engagement, and industry decisions. That means meeting our audience where they are, helping them to understand esoteric concepts that might inform their work; advocating actionable changes based on research insights; supporting advancements that create real positive changefor communities.

The Videographer will work with the core School of Cities team of staff and faculty, especially our knowledge translation and comms teams, to amplify our academic work and connect with change-makers who are committed to improving cities.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Planning and implementing components of digital media communications projects
- Planning and developing pre-production video ideas into outlines, scripts, and story boards
- Producing promotional and outreach materials
- Keeping well-informed on applicable copyright, access and privacy laws
- Conducting photography and/or videography shoots
- Editing post-production audio and/or visual material
- Maintaining a repository of digital media records

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in video production, media arts, or film, or equivalent related experience
- Minimum five years (5 years) in video editing and production
- Demonstrated expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud - Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Media Encoder
- Demonstrated creative ability in scriptwriting, storyboarding, motion graphics.
- Strong technical skills with professional cameras and grip/lighting gear.
- Experience in leading projects independently and collaborating within teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects successfully within tight timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of current urban issues and challenges.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed and willingness to travel to shoot locations and events across Southern Ontario.
