**THE ROLE**

As the Gas Fuser you are expected to be engaged in our safety program, executing work in a safe manner, in adherence with CANA policies and all applicable code regulations and the Act.
- This position entails physically demanding motions and tasks.
- The work requires commuting to different sites in and around the Calgary area.
- With projects across Western Canada, travel and shift work may be required.
- CANA Energy operates year-round and outdoors in all types of terrain and environments.
- Hourly rate $28 - $35

**YOU WILL**
- Construct, fuse, install and maintain gas lines
- PE Fusion, pressure testing, cutting, and live tie ins
- Fusion of pipes ranging from ½” to 6” in size,
- Install a variety of pipe material including steel and polyethylene, unions, clamps, tees, sleeves and crosses;
- Joining pipes with a variety of methods including mechanical, socket, butt and electrofuse
- Documentation and reporting: completion reporting, pressure test affidavits, work orders, field reports, as built and safety report
- Read and interpret gas and electrical drawings and prints
- Assisting in digging ditches or trenches, excavating, sanding, backfilling excavations, and compacting/leveling
- Placing conduit & different types of cables
- Perform various shallow utility installations in addition to gas lines Organize, clean, and maintain job site, equipment, and tools

**YOU WILL NEED**
- Must hold a valid ATCO Certified Fusing Ticket
- Valid Class 5 operator's license with a clean abstract and reliable transportation to commute to various job sites
- A successful Pre-Employment Assessment that includes screening for Drug & Alcohol and the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly

**NICE TO HAVE**
- Experience fusing of pipes ranging from 6” - 12”
- Steel experience
- Ability to read power prints
- Experience operating Mueller equipment for stopping gas
- Class 1 or Class 3 operator’s license
- Experience working near active Heavy Machinery
- Previous electrical utilities or gas experience is an asset
- Heavy Equipment Operating experience is an asset
