**Overview**:
The position is for the BMO Capital Markets Investment Banking Calgary energy group. This team provides a full suite of products and services to clients in the oil & gas production, energy infrastructure, and oilfield services sectors through an integrated Capital Markets platform, including M&A advisory and capital raising services.

Upon joining BMO, analysts will start their careers with us by completing BMO Capital Markets Global Orientation and our Global Investment Banking Training and Development Program which begins in **July 2026**. The program is designed to help you make the transition from theory to practice. Training includes core investment banking skills, such as: accounting, valuation and modeling, and pitch book development. This training is delivered by leading industry professionals. You will also complete BMO specific training to learn about our strategy, culture and have plenty of opportunities to socialize with your peers and network with senior management and other internal contacts.

**Responsibilities**:
An Investment Banking Analyst is responsible for assisting teams in the development of pitch materials for current or prospective clients, and the ultimate execution of transactions. Primary responsibilities include:

- Supporting deal teams in the execution of M&A transactions, as well as equity and debt financings.
- Preparing and delivering client presentations.
- Performing complex financial analysis including financial modeling.
- Conducting company and industry research and analysis.
- Collaborating and building relationships with various internal product partners.
- Maintaining internal databases.

This position is ideally suited to talented, highly motivated individuals who seek to build a solid, comprehensive foundation in the basic skills of investment and corporate banking.

**Qualifications**:
BMO Capital Markets offers a practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic investment banking environment. We are looking for highly motivated, ambitious and mature individuals:

- Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, graduating in **December 2025 or Spring 2026**:

- An undergraduate degree in finance, math, accounting, engineering, economics, statistics with an outstanding academic achievement
- Strong understanding of the energy sector.
- Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities, timelines and requests while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Hard-working, self-starter, able to work autonomously and as team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), FactSet and Bloomberg.
- You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or an individual who is legally authorized to work in Canada and will not require sponsorship in the future
