**Request for Service: Social Media Manager (Independent Contractor)**

**Vancouver Athletic Football Club (VAFC)**

Vancouver Athletic FC is one of the largest youth soccer clubs in Vancouver, with more than 3,000 participants. We are seeking proposals from qualified individuals to provide contracted **Social Media Manager**services to the club.

**Scope of Work**

The Social Media Manager will:

- Generate, edit, publish, and moderate original social media content across VAFC platforms, using photography, video, and other methods.
- Be responsible for capturing content, editing, and final creation of posts.
- Provide graphic design support as needed to ensure high-quality and engaging materials.
- Approach and enthusiastically engage with members to gather and solicit content providers.
- Coordinate and work with influencers to enhance engagement and expand the club’s online reach.
- Work with the Executive Director to assist in creating and publishing the Club’s monthly newsletter.
- Assist in enhancing Club website content, including proposing improvements for consideration.
- Support the club’s community presence by promoting programs, events, and sponsorship initiatives.
- Be available for occasional evening or weekend coverage of games, tournaments, and events.

**Term & Hours**
- Contracted for an **average of 40 hours per month**, with hours varying depending on the time of year and event schedule.
- Initial contract term: 6 months, with the potential to renew.
- Independent contractor arrangement (not an employee position).

**Proposal Requirements**

Interested individuals are asked to submit:

- **Proposed monthly rate** (for ~40 hours/month).
- **Relevant experience**, particularly with amateur sports, youth organizations, or nonprofits.
- **Portfolio or examples** of past social media accounts, posts, newsletters, or websites you have managed.
- **Availability** for the contract term, including evenings/weekends where needed.

**Reporting**

The Social Media Manager will report to the **VAFC Executive Director** and liaise with the Board as necessary.

**Submission**

Please submit your proposal, including your proposed monthly rate, experience, and portfolio, by **October 31, 2025** to the Executive Director, VAFC.
