**CLAIMS ADVISOR, COMMERCIAL INSURANCE**
The Claims Advisor supports the commercial department, with success in this role driven by a strong knowledge of the claims process as well as the ability to effectively assist clients with this process. The _Claims Advisor_ is responsible to provide claims advocacy support for existing clients claims as well as assist new business Producers with obtaining new accounts by communicating the overall claims service proposition. A sense of urgency, quick follow-up and strong organizational skills are required.
**LOCATION AND STATUS**
- Brampton, ON or Ottawa, ON
- Full-time, permanent, in-office
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to)**:
- Submit initial claim report to insurers plus regular follow up
- Provide claims advocacy support on behalf of the client
- Liaise with adjusters and insurance companies on the client’s behalf
- Assist commercial producers with claims queries and overall navigation of claims process
- Tracking of claims costs
- Maintaining up-to-date loss histories
- Reporting and tracking large losses
- Ensuring proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing claims communication in the broker management system (EPIC)
- Assistance with Personal Insurance and catastrophe claims may also be required
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 2-5 years of insurance claims related experience in the insurance industry
- RIBO license required, or willingness to obtain the license
- CIP designation or working towards is considered an asset
