**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Assistant works with a small Finance team which supports the business in processing, reporting and business consulting. With a focus on cross-training and multi-role support, the following is a general description of the position’s duties and responsibilities:

- Process accounting transactions including journal entries
- Perform account reconciliation, month-end closing
- Process and record incoming payments
- Ensure timely collection of royalties and reconcile customer payments in a timely manner, including follow up on overdue tariff payments
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or misapplied cash transactions
- Maintain and update customer records in the system on a timely basis
- Prepare financial and sales reports and any ad hoc reports assigned
- Provide A/P processing support and coverage as needed including monthly/quarterly royalty distributions
- Assist in the preparation of year-end audit working documents
- Other duties as required

**Experience and Qualifications**
- University degree in accounting or commerce
- 3 years’ experience in hands-on accounting and A/R capacity
- Must be Excel proficient and savvy with MS Office (Word, Outlook)
- Must have experience in an enterprise accounting systems (Epicor an asset)
- Detail oriented, strong organization and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work independently
- French speaking an asset
