**Health Care Aid (HCA)**
Health Care Aids are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. A HCA will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. They play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care.

**Responsibilities**:

- Enables patients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording the clients condition, providing support and personal services, and teaching families.
- Monitors client condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise.
- Supports clients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks, and running errands.
- Assists clients by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Advises on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
- Enhances service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Enables patients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording the clients condition, providing support and personal services, and teaching families.

**Requirements**:

- HCA Certification or Equivalent OR currently enrolled in Nursing program(RN/RPN) with a minimum successful completion of year 2 OR a domestic or foreign trained nurse
- Valid First Aid & CPR
- Police Clearance Check (valid within the year)
- TB test/immunizations
