We are looking for an engaging, passionate and eager individual to join our team as an **Assistant Retail Manager**.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

- Ensure a heightened level of customer service is being provided to patrons
- Oversee day-to-day operations by working with and delegating tasks to staff while maintain a positive and product work environment
- Responsible for merchandising and store displays according to direction from Retail Manager
- Gain a strong knowledge of products
- Manage inventory and stock/order as needed
- Respond promptly to customer needs, questions, and complaints, and request assistance when necessary
- Manage employee related problems
- Closing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storefront
- May include some purchasing of products
- Train team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling and payroll management
- Enforce health, safety and sanitation rules and procedures
- Learn all roles within Market & Cafe, including Cashier, Sales Associate, Barista and Stock Clerk - Will be expected to work in any of these roles as needed

Qualifications:

- 2 years experience in a leadership role
- 2 years experience in retail industry
- 2 years of customer service experience
- Must be available weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Strong communication skills
- Strong knowledge of food products (an asset, but not necessary)
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to stand and work long hours on feet
- Lift heavy products up to 50 lbs
- Minimum secondary education

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Peterborough, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Leadership: 2 years (required)
- Customer Service: 2 years (required)
- Retail Sales: 2 years (preferred)

Work Location: One location
