**Position Overview / Scope of Responsibilities**:
The Red Seal Carpenter will be responsible for coordinating with the site supervisor’s and foremen to build prefabricated wood walls, help design, renovate, and improve our future metal wall prefabrication shop, understanding the tools used in our shops and how to maintain them properly. We are looking for someone who can manage their time and get tasks completed correctly and on time. We work mainly with prefabricated walls, which is a fast and challenging task. Always thinking ahead and having a good understanding of the entire project are key attributes we are looking for. Baydo Contracting takes pride in promoting within. **Principal Responsibilities**:

- Read and understand blueprints and drawings to determine specifications and calculate material/requirements.
- Have understanding and knowledge on building code
- Build and/or assemble components made of wood, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Build prefabricated walls and lead the flow of work in the shop.
- Work closely with our on-site foreman. Coordinating wall deliveries and communicating any deficiencies or changes necessary.
- Supervise apprentices and other construction workers.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Education**:

- Level 1 to 4 in carpentry including Red Seal.
- Extra construction courses and experience will be considered as potential to grow within the company and for salary negotiations.
- Positive attitude, a desire to help others and a willingness to learn.
- Punctual and ready for work when on the jobsite.

**Working Conditions**:
The job will be situated 10min North of Mission, BC.

**Compensation**:
**Salary**: Starting at $35.00/hour. Higher wage/salary negotiable for the right person with the right experience.
