**About the Opportunity**:
The Junior Epidemiologist works under the direction of senior Epidemiologist(s) and/or the Director, Surveillance and Information and conducts routine analysis and data queries, produces routine descriptive cancer statistics, etc. The Junior Epidemiologist will function as a member of the Cancer Registry and/or a research team in support of Cancer Care Nova Scotia operations.
The Junior Epidemiologist will be jointly appointed to Cancer Care Nova Scotia and the appropriate Dalhousie University faculty and department. There will be academic responsibilities which may include teaching at the undergraduate level.
**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Master of Science in Epidemiology
- Continued membership in applicable professional associations
- One year of experience in the field of epidemiology preferred
- Knowledge of Health Care system and the Cancer Care Program in Nova Scotia
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication (oral & written) and leadership skills
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced research methodologies, statistical analysis and record linkage
- Demonstrated commitment to quality, integrity, validity and reliability of information and data
- Advanced knowledge of computer software programs related to statistics and population health, particularly SAS, Python and R.
- Knowledge of principles if ICD Coding
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

- Long Assignment Full-time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
