**Position**: Director of Parts

**Location**: Flexible (Moncton, NB, Truro, NS, Dartmouth, NS, or Brackley, PE)

The **Director of Parts** reports directly to the VP, Heavy Truck Division and is the driving force that connects all locations to form a cohesive unit. This position requires an energetic person capable of earning the trust of both employees and customers alike. A high-level understanding of strategic business methodologies which cultivate an environment of constant improvement is essential to success in the role of Director of Parts, as is the ability to discern when to employ them. The Director of Parts will possess a strong financial analysis skillset and be able to use such information in a manner that educates parts personnel on how their performance impacts the business.

**Accountabilities**:

- Effectively coach and mentor department managers in creating and maintaining a culture of performance.
- Ensure all parts personnel have the necessary tools & training to execute daily job functions effectively and efficiently, including maximization of the utilization of dealer management systems.
- This position will play a key role in ensuring projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. Focus will be on the people side of change, in addition to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures.
- Develop, implement, & enforce processes within the parts department that ensure inventory management meets industry standards i.e. fill rate, aging, returns, cores, turns, etc.
- Focus on creating excellent customer service to develop repeat, loyal customers.
- Handle unresolved customer complaints immediately, tactfully, and with concern for the customer.
- Recruiting and retaining quality parts department personnel, as well as monitoring their performance in servicing customers. Create innovative and effective incentive packages for all parts personnel that promote a culture of performance.
- Ensure that defined career paths exist and actively work to get parts personnel to the next level - promotions need to be a reasonable expectation throughout the dealership organization.
- Develop all parts level standards pertinent to operations and profitability - CSI, training, revenue, margin, etc.
- Be an active, contributing part of the corporate senior management team to help lead the group in the evolution of the commercial and heavy truck market.
- Manage the Parts Departments to ensure profitability and cost effectiveness - strategically develop, implement, and execute plans to grow the business, including an annual operating budget for each location.
- Ensure all accounting guidelines, policies, and procedures are followed.
- Work closely with and foster positive relationships with our manufacturer partners, keeping in accordance with all company and manufacturer requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive annual performance reviews with parts managers.
- Take necessary corrective and/or disciplinary action for employee non-compliance.
- Lead parts marketing and advertising initiatives to help dealer group gain additional brand awareness in all respective markets, as well as to help drive increased parts sales and profitability.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
