Gas Fitter

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Gasfitter Apprentice & Journeyperson will be responsible for effectively delivering the mechanical portion of the project to ensure Aecon Construction
Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project requirements.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Installing, repairing and maintaining gas meters, regulators, gas lines and gas appliances
- Testing and replacing defective equipment
- Measure, cut, thread and assemble pipe using tools such as pipe cutters, pipe threading machines and pipe vices
- Attending to gas-escape calls and assisting in the investigation of gas fires and explosions
- Preparing work reports
- Reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**
- Certified Journeyperson Ticket or indentured in the apprenticeship program
- The ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time
- Manual dexterity
- Good sense of balance when working on scaffolds
- The ability to solve math problems quickly and accurately
- The ability to get along well with others on a work team
- Must be willing to work in remote job locations
- Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site

- Continuously changing work tasks
- Ability to work a significant number of hours throughout the day
- Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.88-$33.97 per hour

- Delta, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Gasfitter: 4 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class B Certificate (preferred)
