Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications and Community Engagement, and working closely with the Senior Digital Media Specialist, the Website Specialist provides strategic advice, guidance and implementation support on key website and digital communications projects for Michael Garron Hospital (MGH).

Primary Responsibilities

Special web projects
- Provide expertise in leading special web projects such as intranet rebuild, CMS upgrade and revamped physician directory
- Support the Corporate Communications and Community Engagement team in performing annual website audit and updates
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and vendors on troubleshooting and development (e.g. identifying improvements, general best practices, investigating bugs, etc.) and collaborate with hospital Information Technology team on support with integrations

**Corporate content management systems**: Websites and public digital screens
- Perform day-to-day web updates and support content creation on MGH’s key corporate content management systems including tehn.ca, iCare and public digital screens across the MGH campus
- In partnership with the Senior Digital Media Specialist, guide the Corporate Communications and Community Engagement team in the development and implementation of guiding documents and corporate processes that support the governance and business ownership of tehn.ca, iCare and public digital screens, e.g. business rules for each platform, sustainability plans, training and orientation, facilitating annual content audits, etc.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to clients on content updates to public digital screens, tehn.ca and iCare
- Use Google Analytics and insights to make improvements to overall user experience and search engine optimization
- Leverage user experience design principles to provide advice, counsel and support to internal clients on information architecture, visual design and usability of website and intranet pages
- Provide website training and support to new users; support theCorporate Communications and Community Engagement teamwith website troubleshooting and best practices; train programs and services to develop and maintain content and advise on content architecture and strategies for program web pages

Digital content creation
- Support the Corporate Communications andCommunity Engagement team as needed in the development of content for the editorial calendar including storytelling, writing and photography
- Support the execution of integrated communications plans across a variety of digital communications tactics and channels

Education
- Post-secondary degree in Website Management, Digital Media, Content Management, Communications or related degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in website management, digital communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience
- Proven experience in web development, maintaining websites and digital project coordination
- Knowledge and experience on integrating user experience into final web products
- Strong understanding of various content management systems; experiencewith Drupal is an asset
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Demonstrated proficiency in data analytics (i.e. Google Analytics 4), including the ability to analyze online trends
- Knowledge in web tools and strategies (Google Tag Manager, AdWords,SEO and SEM)
- Experience with web hosting environments is an asset
- Experience with graphic design and basic video editing with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is an asset
- Experience with web and social media ads is an asset
- Knowledge of AODA and WCAG 2.0
- Demonstrated reliability, flexibility and ability to take initiative
- Demonstrated proficiency working with standard office software in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent organizational, communications (verbal/written), interpersonal and creative problem-solving and negotiating skills
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment where juggling multiple projects, deadlines, and last-minute changes are commonplace
- Exceptionally high level of good judgement and skill are required for providing strategic guidance, advice and counsel
