Looking for a full time Registered ECE to work in our toddler and preschool classrooms. Experience an asset. Would be responsible for diaper changes/toileting, feeding lunch and snacks, planning art and learning activities, communication with parents, observations and documentation, and directing the Early Childhood Assistants or Enhanced support staff with relevant duties.
The daycare is open 7am to 5:30pm, and workers complete 8 hours shifts that can be rotational, or stationary, depending on the needs at the time. Looking for someone with energy and creativity, resiliency, and calm. Should be positive and peaceful.
Requires:
Immunization Record
Standard First Aid and CPR level C
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sectors (less than 6 months old)
Registration with the College of ECE

Full time Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)
**Summary**:
The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for assisting the Supervisor to develop, implement and maintain a high quality childcare program that meets the children’s basic needs as well as organize activities that stimulate children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth. They are to help children explore their interests, develop their talents and independence, build self-esteem and learn how to get along with others.
**Minimum Job Specifications**:
ECE Diploma or equivalent as determined by the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR level C (child)
Strong communication skills
Ability to interact well with others
Be organized and a self-starter
High level of skill required in developmentally appropriate program planning, behaviour management, team work and flexibility.
Current Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector
Up-to-date Immunization, including Covid related vaccinations
Member of CECE (in good standing)
Having a Safe Food Handling Ontario certification, or a willingness to take the course, are an asset but not required
**Basic Duties and Responsibilities**:
The following is an outline of the duties and responsibilities required for this position. These duties may change from time to time depending on business needs. Not all of the duties are included and nor could they be.
Assist the Supervisor in planning routines and schedules for an ongoing, stimulating program for all children, and the efficient operation of the centre.
Develop and maintain program plans and schedules to include the full range of curriculum areas.
Assist the Supervisor in setting annual goals and plan the program to meet these goals.
Responsible for the orderly arrangement, appearance and décor of the child care centre.
Maintain a safe, healthy environment
Ensure that equipment and furnishings are kept in good repair.
Administer first aid when required.
Provide basic daily care for all children (feeding, diapering, cleaning, providing comfort).
Greet parents and children as they arrive.
Teach self-help skills to children including dressing, undressing, feeding, toileting, cleaning up, etc.
Plan, organize and direct all aspects of curriculum including gross motor inside/outside, circle time, creative, lunch/snack times, rest time, science, cognitive, etc.
Observe children and watch for those who may be ill or have emotional or developmental issues and bring to parents and supervisor’s attention.
Teach children social skills including turn taking, listening, how to get along, etc.
Ensure all toys, equipment and supplies are put away correctly.
Clean toys and equipment as necessary.
Use checklists as required by Ministry and/or supervisor.
Develop positive and supportive communications and relationships with the children, parents, team members and the community.
Provide the supervisor with ideas and information for newsletter.
Assist in facilitating parent education ie. Open House, bulletin boards, etc.
Communicate with parents regularly regarding program, child development and any other areas of concern.
Assist with or provide for the assessment of children as necessary.
Maintain good communication and a cooperative working relationship with community agencies including schools.
Document suspected child abuse and report to Supervisor, understanding personal legal liability for reporting procedures.
Carry out administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Comply with all municipal, regional and provincial requirements relating to operating a licensed childcare program.
Assist with inventory and provide input into purchases of supplies.
Attend regular staff meetings.
Assume an equal share of the staff housekeeping responsibilities.
May be required to undertake other related duties from time-to-time due to the absence of other members of the childcare team.
Follow centre and Ministry policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety.
Report any injuries or hazardous conditions to the supervisor and/or operator (owner)
