The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director of IT & Strategy, the Manager, Projects and Compliance will be primarily responsible for leading Information Technology internal projects. They will support IT’s participation in compliance projects within AgeCare, and act as the first line contact and representative for IT compliance and project issues.

Within the scope of this position, the Manager, Projects and Compliance takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of client safety and freedom from harm and injury.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assesses IT compliance requirements for areas such as regulatory bodies, business partners, government agencies, legal and health regions to ensure:

- Ensure that requirements are met
- Procedures and policies are in place ensure that compliance is maintained
- Identifying control gaps and process improvement opportunities.
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate technology projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
- Ensure that projects meet and exceed all objectives
- Liaison with stakeholders internal and external to Information Technology to ensure project success and continued ongoing compliance.
- Preparing and submitting project budget estimates and monthly progress and billing forecasts
- Maintaining and managing the controls list
- Providing risk and control advice and education for the benefit of the organization, being a “champion” and advocate for strong risk management and governance controls.
- Understanding and critically analyzing complex IT processes, identifying and assessing potential risks and determining whether those risks are appropriately mitigated (using various techniques such as problem solving, root cause and data analysis)
- Responsible for managing regular scheduled internal reviews of key control areas and initiating/coordinating scheduled compliance testing
- Preparing and updating policy manuals/document for internal IT use and external stakeholders
- Training and update IT staff on regulator
- Staying abreast of changing compliance criteria and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

- 5 to 10 years leading IT projects
- 10 to 15 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: development, networking/security, and servers.
- Good understanding of the different areas of IT and how they interrelate
- 5 to 10 years of direct involvement in IT compliance (IT Controls, regulatory compliance, etc.) in both implementation and audit response.
- Degree or diploma in information technology
- Documentation of procedure and processes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Familiar with the ITIL Framework and PMP certification are definite assets
