**Tasks**:

- Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
- Read blueprints, architectural drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut and fasten underlay and under-padding
- Prepare flooring plans and scheduling
- Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings
- Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations
- Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
- Estimate costs and materials
- Prepare floors for installations
- Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants

**Work conditions and physical capabilities**
- Physically demanding
- Handling heavy loads
- Bending, crouching, kneeling
- Ability to distinguish between colours
- Hand-eye co-ordination
