Pharmacy Assistant

Our company is looking for a reliable, energetic and highly-motivated pharmacy assistant to help our team provide patients with quality medication. As a pharmacy assistant, you’ll be assisting pharmacists in dispensing retail prescriptions, clerical duties and answering phones. You must be detail-oriented, possess great communication skills and be willing to learn new things. Since this position involves working with people, we are seeking someone that is compassionate and has a high degree of empathy. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry would be an asset. You will need to have good organization skills, able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments at once while keeping high standards of accuracy. As a pharmacy assistant, you will help our company improve patient care by providing safe medication services under the direction of the pharmacist.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication to patients according to prescribed dosage and instructions.
- Maintain patient records and ensure the accuracy of stock count and prescription delivery.
- Answer questions, provide information, accept payments and refer customers to the pharmacist or other personnel as needed.
- Call patients or other pharmacy personnel if prescription delivery is delayed; greet customers, explain pharmacy policies and answer questions.
- Greet customers on arrival and direct them to designated personnel.
- Expedite customer orders by providing procedures for handling prescriptions; make recommendations regarding specific medications.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: From $16.55 per hour
Expected hours: 12 - 20 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
**Education**:
- Secondary School (preferred)
