Northplex Ltd. is currently seeking an Experienced Full-Time Shipping & Receiving Lead Hand located in Barrhead, AB. This position is accountable for leading the Shipping/Receiving Department, the shipping and receiving of items, and ensuring items are delivered in a timely manner.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

1. Receiving and Inspection:

- Receive incoming materials, components, and equipment, verifying accuracy of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all items meet quality standards and report any discrepancies or damages promptly.
- Accurately record received goods, including labeling, tagging, and storing items in designated areas.
- Leading of the Shipping/Receiving Department

2. Inventory Management:

- Organize and maintain inventory of raw materials, components, and finished products in an orderly and efficient manner.
- Perform regular inventory counts to ensure accurate stock levels and reconcile discrepancies with appropriate documentation.
- Coordinate with other departments to fulfill material requests and maintain adequate stock levels.

3. Order Fulfillment and Packaging:

- Prepare outgoing shipments by pulling/documenting materials from inventory based on sales orders or production schedules.
- Ensure accurate packaging, labeling, and documentation for all outgoing shipments, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to the assembly line.

4. Shipping Coordination:

- Coordinate with freight carriers and logistics partners to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely transportation and receipt of goods.

5. Safety and Compliance:

- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Maintain knowledge of shipping regulations, hazardous material handling, and transportation compliance standards.
- Identify and report any safety concerns or potential hazards related to shipping and receiving activities.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a factory or manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience as a Team Leader is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem solving & decision making skills.
- Proficient in using computerized inventory management systems and software.
- Familiarity with packaging and labeling requirements for various shipping methods.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in shipping, receiving, and materials handling.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
