To strength our R&D team in Canada, we are looking for:
**Application Specialist Bakery**

( _Mississauga, Ontario, Canada _)

**Your Mission**

Reporting directly to the R&D Director Bakery, you will support profitable business growth at industrial sized customers by proposing and implementing innovative concepts and solutions on their production lines, as well as troubleshooting issues. Together with the business development teams, manage new customer projects as well as protect current sales.

**What you will do**

**Implementation of new products and concepts on industrial lines**
- Lead implementation and commercialization of Puratos products on industrial production lines
- Participate in early stages of new concept creation aligned with customer capabilities
- Recommend different Puratos technologies to deliver finished product requirements
- Support customers with trouble shooting in terms of recipe, process and ingredient/process interactions at plant level
- Utilize relationships to protect existing sales or to develop new business opportunities
- Collaborate with R&D to develop and formulate new or tailor-made products to meet customer needs
- Support analytical test baking of new items at bench level

**Business Development support to Sales**
- Identify new business opportunities at customers (prospecting)
- Detect products at risk and proposing solutions
- Gather intelligence on competitor items and comparative performance
- Support internal and external presentations explaining benefits of our products
- Prepare finished good concepts for customer presentations and triangular sales opportunities/demos

**Build expertise & network in specialty area**
- Become a leading expert in the product range through training and field experience
- Build an active network of high commercial value of customers, machine suppliers, vendors and the international Puratos R&D community
- Provide intelligence on innovative raw materials & technologies that can differentiate our products

**Food Safety**
- Comply with our food safety procedures upon new raw material selection, product development or modification and sample preparation
- Report all food safety and quality issues to immediate Supervisor and / or head of Quality

**Safety & environment**
- Follow the general rules of safety, health and environment on the work floor
- Report each unsafe situation to the head of the department & the safety manager
- Participate actively in risk-management
- Keep workplace clean and in order
- Respect the general hygiene rules of the companyFollow the set rules related to the function regarding food defense & food fraud

**What we expect from you**
- **Education**:Academic degree or technical certification in Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline is an asset
- **Experience**:Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial bakery environment; Knowledge of relationship between process, ingredients and end product; Competency in industrial processing (equipment, operating procedures & settings)
- **Skill**:Excellent problem solving and analytical test baking capabilities
- **Competencies**:Takes initiative to lead and manage multiple activities and projects; Business development capacities - Strong networker and customer oriented, providing excellent customer experience; Self-motivated and maintains positive attitude in challenging environments
- Good understanding of the local bakery market, functionality of ingredients / additivesWilling to travel approximately up to 75% of the time
