**Position Title**: Work Integrated Learning Placement Officer
**Status**: Full-Time Support
**Hours**:40
**Faculty/Department**: Nursing and PSW cluster, Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness
**Campus/Location**:North Campus, Hybrid
**Salary**: FT Support Payband H ($36.29 - $42.13)
**What you will do**:
Under the direction of the Associate Dean, the Placement Officer - Hospital - Nursing and PSW Cluster is a proactive team member responsible for the acquisition of up to 3000 placements for nursing students in the Nursing - PSW cluster. In addition, the incumbent will:
- Actively coordinates the acquisition and confirmations of all placements;
- Manage the selection of students for specialty and partnership placements
- Match student preferences for placement and curriculum requirements through the site selector function of HSP Net;
- Ensure through the Affiliation Agreement Registry that contractual agreements and liability insurance between the college and agencies are in place;
- Liaise with 140-150 agencies as well as Associate Dean, WIL Operations Manager, Program Coordinators, Program Managers, Clearance staff, faculty, and students internally;
- Use HSPNet to maintain a database of student placements in hospital settings;
- Participate in the transmission of data files as required for database creation and maintenance.
- Participate in educating students about field/clinical placement opportunities
- Provide the Clearance Office a list of requirements needed for placement in hospital settings
- If required participate in the clinical / field placement clearance process as needed to ensure that the students have met all the required pre-requisites for placement.
- If required assist with exam and test proctoring for all program areas
**What you bring to the role**:
**Education**:
Four (4) year degree in Business, Health Management or equivalent. A member in good standing from a regulated health profession is preferred.
**Experience**:
- Experience working in a health care and / or education setting;
- Project management experience;
- Fluency with MS Office 365
- Fluency with database operations;
- Experience interacting with potential partners; and,
- Experience marketing and profiling the benefits of what students have to offer an agency.
**Skills**:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal relations abilities
- Exceptional ability to multi-task with a proven ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality
- Skilled at problem solving and adapting to changing situations and unanticipated challenges
- Able to make independent decisions demonstrating good judgement
