**Position Summary**

This position supports the provision of ongoing quality within the Child & Youth Development Summer Program (CYD summer program runs for 5 weeks). The student must be able to carry out assigned and/or delegated tasks and work successfully within a team. This position will provide the opportunity to interact with children with support needs within a recreation based setting. The expectation is that the student will help to plan and facilitate summer camp.

**Qualifications**

Per Canada Summer Jobs requirements:

- Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
- Is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and
- Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
- Foreign students are not eligible
- Experience and/or related training in after school care, daycare, and recreation based programming with children/youth
- Independence and initiative are essential skills
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in office setting with Microsoft Office programs is preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid First Aid Certificate preferred
- Valid driver’s license and available vehicle/transportation with adequate insurance
- Employment will be conditional upon completion of Criminal record check clearance30 hours per week for 8 weeks - June 9 to June 27 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Youth Summer Camp Hours June 30 thru August 1 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM - paid meal break Monday thru Friday.
30 hours per week for 8 weeks June 9, 2025 thru August 1, 2025
