**Basic Requirements**:

- Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing;
- Five (5) years relevant clinical experience;
- Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the care of the HIV/infectious diseases patient clientele;
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively and efficiently while coordinating a multidisciplinary team;
- Demonstrates the ability to develop and coordinate teaching programs for patients and families, and hospital staff as it relates to the Clinical Services;
- Demonstrates the ability to coordinate research activities;
- Demonstrates the ability to supervise and develop staff in their required skills and development;
- Demonstrates the ability to plan, develop, coordinate, implement and maintain a comprehensive multidisciplinary patient care program through establishing reviewing systems and processes to facilitate a smooth running program;
- Identifies a commitment to personal continuing education activities;
- Proven to have positive and effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide patient teaching and conduct in depth assessments
- Demonstrated organization, planning, facilitation skills
- Ability to respond to a large number of simultaneous demands
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed
- Ability to prepare and present educational material based on principles of adult learning
- Ability to direct and supervise staff in skills development and care delivery
- Exhibits mature judgment in clinical, educational, research and administrative matters
- Knowledge of research and quality improvement
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to new and unexpected events
- Computer literacy including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to identify potential for patient or institutional risk and intervenes appropriately
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations. For example, the Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA) and associated regulations
- Active membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (R.N.A.O.)
- Proficiency in speaking and comprehending both English and French (A-) level is required.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent;
- Previous teaching/management experience;
- Member of CANAAC (Canadian Association for Nurses in AIDS care.
