**Principal Responsibilities**
- Designs and executes multi-step syntheses of complex organic compounds with reactive functional groups
- Takes on other synthetic chemistry tasks as needed to support on-going research or new technology ideas
- Assists with diligence and write-ups for new IP filings
- Works with the entire Abdera chemistry team to keep an organized and safe laboratory space
- Keeps excellent records and lab notes with thorough characterization of all synthetic intermediates and final compounds
- Participates in training programs to develop essential skills in pharmaceutical sciences
- _ Opportunity to learn and execute techniques in radiochemistry_
- _ Opportunity to execute_ in vitro_ studies of novel radiopharmaceuticals_
**Qualifications, Education & Experience
- PhD in organic, bioorganic, inorganic, or medicinal chemistry
- Demonstrated ability to carry out multi-step synthetic routes to produce pure compounds
- Proficient in the characterization of complex organic molecules - NMR, LC-MS, spectroscopy
- Knowledge of medicinal chemistry and able to interpret biological data to drive decisions on new chemistry
- Experience with bifunctional compounds, peptides, and linkers is a plus
- Experience with protein and antibody conjugates, their biophysical properties and protein science is also an advantage
- Considered an asset but not required: experience working with radiolabeling and radioactivity
- Considered an asset but not required: experience in performing radiobiological assays and evaluation of radioconjugates _in vivo_
