**Purpose**:

- Advancement Services & Operations is the administrative and technology support unit for all Advancement activities
- Alumni Engagement provides programs, services, and engagement to over 350,000 York alumni worldwide
- Development leads efforts to promote and secure philanthropic support from alumni, donors, friends, corporations, and foundations
- Advancement Communications & Marketing works to promote and communicate alumni and donor messages along with direct marketing services for alumni and donor engagementOur mission is to inspire and cultivate meaningful engagement and philanthropic support within our diverse communities to advance York University's excellence in education, research, and community service. We accomplish our mission through our values of accountability, collaboration and entrepreneurship. The Leadership Giving Officer supports this mission by working directly with the faculty Director of Development to devise and implement a comprehensive Leadership Giving plan for the Faculty that reflects their strategic priorities, links with appropriate partners within the Faculty, and works in concert with the University's Academic Plan. The incumbent is responsible for the full scope of activities related to the cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship of a portfolio of Leadership Giving prospects and donors, typically in the giving range of $1000 - $24,999. In concert with the Manager, Leadership Giving, the incumbent develops strategies to promote strategic partnerships and loyal giving with the Leadership Giving segment/portfolio. Personally solicits gifts (both independently and in conjunction with senior administrators and senior fundraising volunteers), and stewards leadership giving donors. In addition to Leadership Giving, the incumbent actively participates in planned giving, donor relations and stewardship, and sound information management.
**Education**:
A university education or equivalent combination of education and fundraising experience, specifically in an educational setting.
**Experience**:
Minimum of 2- 4 years' experience in professional fundraising, with a focus on Leadership Giving and with exposure to stewardship and Planned Giving. University fundraising an asset.
**Skills**:
Knowledge
- Knowledge of leadership giving, proven track record of closing gifts and meeting fundraising goals.
- Knowledge of best practices and trends in fundraising
- Knowledge and ability to develop and implement strategic fundraising plans for prospects.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles.
- Knowledge of the development process and a proven track record with leadership giving, corporate philanthropy, prospect management, and campaigns.
- Knowledge of prospect research techniques and sources. Skills
- Effective oral and written communication and ability to communicate in a concise creative, and persuasive manner Ability to articulate fundraising priorities in a not-for-profit environment.
- Attention to details, high standards for quality, ability to balance risk, university policies and donor intent.
- Strong analytical, research, interpretative and evaluation skills.
- A strong commitment to donor centric customer service.
- High competency in delivering formal and informal presentations to diverse groups, large and small.
- Results driven individual with successful track of accomplishing professional goals.
- Ability to work constructively with staff, students, and volunteers. Ability to collaborate groups of people to work towards a common goal.

- Ability to meet goals at the faculty level while fulfilling the needs of the development team.

- Interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of individuals at many different levels.
- Excellent project management, prioritization and time-management skills are required to manage multiple on-going projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently and as part of team.
