**Overview**
The Farm hand role works on the farm property throughout the summer and then moves to our manufacturing warehouse in the off season. This role requires someone with a variety of farming experience who is flexible and able to switch to a warehouse setting when work on the farm slows down seasonally.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- General care of cattle and horses.
- Property maintenance; grass cutting, snow removal, etc.
- Operate, repair, and perform regular maintenance of all farm equipment and heavy machinery.
- Assists on inventory bulk packaging, loading, unloading of all products produced on the farm and materials arriving on-site.
- Build skids.
- Assist with maintenance of property and machinery.
- Assist with warehousing duties if required.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications**
- At least 2 years of labour experience or operating agricultural equipment.
- At least 2 years of farming experience.
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment: Tractors (John Deere, Front-End, Bail, Round, and Square loader), lawn mower, skid loader, and forklift.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Able to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the position including bending, twisting, kneeling, and crouching.
**Competencies**
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a deadline-focused environment.
**Considerations**
- Previous animal knowledge is an asset.
**Drug and Alcohol Testing**:CVS Controls is committed to maintaining a safe and drug free work environment. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is a mandatory requirement for all prospective employees.
**Fitness-to-Work Testing**:A pre-employment fitness evaluation will be required for positions involving physical tasks.
