**Position Summary**: The Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager is responsible for managing the corporate HSE program exclusively within our Field Solutions team and ensuring the HSE performance aligns with Source Energy’s pillars of Excellence. The position will work with the Field Solutions team leaders to pursue best in class HSE program components such as; training and competency, procedure development, audit and inspections, safety meetings, behavior based and incident reporting program.. In addition, this role is accountable for administering the reporting of HSE performance to the management team and recommending strategies to continuously improve in an effort to proactively influence the operational team.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Manage the SES Health Safety & Environment Management System and ensure effective onsite implementation through programs and processes;
- Develop and implement HSE programs and procedures that follow local, provincial, and federal HSE rules and regulations;
- Aids in the preparation of reports and analyses of incident root causes for use by company personnel, external customers, and vendors;
- Completes inspections at all client locations to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures, and to detect existing or potential health and safety hazards. Ensure proper corrective action plans are created to address the findings and that proper follow up is completed;
- Conduct facility inspections to proactively seek out unsafe hazards and behaviors;
- Influence the active employee and management participation in the HSE program;
- Manage the operations HSE training compliance to ensure a proper level of engagement;
- Ensure the continuation of the companies COR compliance;
- Respond to, support and serves as the primary contact in the event of any serious incidents at company location;
- Create awareness campaigns or controls based on actual or potential risks to aid in loss prevention;
- Complete administrative duties related to the HSE program, including running reports, looking for data trends, and identifying engagement gaps;
- Represents the organization in community or industry HSE groups and programs and;
- Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Formal HSE Diploma/Degree from an accredited school is ideal; with a minimum of 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- A designation as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is an asset;
- Previous oilfield experience is preferred;
- Proven ability to develop strong relationships at all levels of the organization and demonstrate value added service to the business;
- Understanding of industry trends and safety best practices;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience with the Certificate or Recognition (COR) program
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as knowledge of the internet, and HSE web based software; and
- Job responsibilities will require travel to well sites up to 50% of the time.
**Qualifications**:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate well with others and create effective customer-focused relationships at all levels across the organization;
- Ability to work independently to implement HSE programs and ensure their continued success at the field level.
- Strong leader and team builder with an engaging approach to driving and implementing new policies and procedures;
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or member of the business community; and
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
