**Powerline Technician**
**Location**:Belleville, ON
**Position Overview**:
The Lineman is responsible, to build, maintain and repair overhead and underground electrical powerlines.
**Here's what you will do as a Powerline Technician at Spark Power**:
- Installing, maintaining and repairing overhead and underground electrical systems, including power lines and cables, and street lighting systems,
- Connecting and insulating conductors and related wiring,
- Climbing ladders or operating hydraulic buckets when working on poles and towers,
- Ensure quality workmanship by conducting inspections of completed work which include analyzing drawings to verify compliance with job requirements and applicable related codes/regulations
- Coordinate with local electrical inspection governance to have work correctly approved per the local code requirements,
**Do you have the Spark? Here's what we are looking for**:
- Current 434A Trade License
- At least 5 years' relevant electrical experience
- Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Code (OEC)
- Maintain a valid A, D or G Class Driver's License with clean driving record
- Positive attitude with leadership qualities is an asset
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- **Troubleshooting** — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
- **Active Listening** — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- **Problem Sensitivity** — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- **Critical Thinking** — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- **Operation Monitoring** — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- **Troubleshooting** — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
