**Department Manager - Meat & Seafood (WINDSOR, NOVA SCOTIA)**
**This position is available at our Windsor, Nova Scotia - Atlantic Superstore #377 location.**:
**Department Manager (permanent full time) - Meat & Seafood (Working at our Windsor, Nova Scotia Superstore location as your home base.)**
In this role, you will be responsible for all fresh and frozen meat and seafood programs in conjunction with the assigned department and additional assigned fresh food areas within the store.
As part of our Management Team, you will be a mentor and leader, developing your team through succession planning initiatives, supporting our Care, Ownership, Respect, and Excellence (CORE) Values. Part of your responsibility as a Department Manager will include weekly rotational responsibilities/ participation as part of our Manager on Duty rotation.
**No Previous Meat, Seafood, Retail, Food Service or Management Experience?**
**What You’ll Do**:
- To direct and supervise all Meat & Seafood and additional departments staff to secure efficient in stock position and courteous customer service
- Ensure productivity within all areas is efficient, achieving expectations within each department.
- To respond immediately to any customer inquiries, requests and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times
- To maximize sales and gross profit, ensuring sales’ goals and budgets are met
- To hire all part-time staff and train new employees
- To support and schedule all colleagues ensuring compliance with our scheduling practices and the strict control of wage costs
- To interpret and administer Company policy and ensure compliance with the Employee Guidelines
- Responsible for maintaining the condition of all service counters, cake case, production areas and offices (5’s standards)
- To ensure the safety and sanitation and overall conditions of the sales floor, back shop, coolers, freezers for each department
**What You’ll Need**:
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours which include days, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Accept responsibility for department metrics, leadership and colleague engagement.
- Three to five years’ experience in the meat/seafood/ retail service industry considered beneficial
- Prior management experience considered beneficial
- Grade 12 Diploma (GED or equivalent)
