Junior Cook

The primary responsibilities of the Junior Cook include:_
- Assist First Cook with meal preparation
- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, prepping salads, vegetarian meals, and other related duties
- Measure ingredients and seasonings
- Prepare meals according to the menu, ensuring quality and quantity standards are met
- Perform routine kitchen tasks, including assisting with serving food and clean-up among other duties
- Label and stock all ingredients on shelves in an organized and accessible fashion
- Ensure that all food and supplies are stored and sanitized properly
- Comply with Health and Safety under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Comply with safe food handling and safe handling of cleaning chemicals (W.H.M.I.S)
- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment
- A minimum of 2 years of cooking experience is required
- Reliability and flexibility
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Position requires considerable walking and standing for long periods
- A current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check

Scheduled shifts will include evenings and weekends.
