Job Description: Pharmacy Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy. **Responsibilities**:

- Provide superior customer service and answer their inquiries
- Greet patient/customer promptly
- Gather prescription information accurately and and completely according to College Standards
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Prepare prescription orders and label medications
- Refer any clinical inquiries to the pharmacist
- set realistic customer expectations to wait times
- Assisting with cashier responsibilities
- Ensuring Pharmacist is notified of patients requiring prescription counselling
- Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy requirements
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Process insurance claims and handle billing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area
- Adhere to all pharmacy regulations and safety standards

Qualifications:

- At least 1 year pharmacy assistant experience in Canada
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with Kroll pharmacy software is a plus
