Responsible to the Director of Support Services for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding and delivering linens and personal clothing in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

- Experience in industrial laundry
- Good Organization skills
- Maturity
- Willingness to continually update and keep current their knowledge of changing procedures, regulations, practices, etc. through participation in in-house in service programs as well as online learning

Functions:

- Pick up, sort, and treat laundry according to established policies
- Wash, dry laundry following instructions for machine operations, designated washing and drying times, etc.. Mend and iron personal clothing and linen as authorized by the resident/financially responsible person on a fee-for-service basis. Iron table cloths as necessary. Fold laundry as required, sort and deliver to appropriate areas.
- Demonstrate respect for the privacy and dignity of the residents during performance of duties and handle their personal belongings with respect and care.
- Label resident clothing and mark linen as outlined in Laundry Department Policies.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures regarding Continuous Quality Improvement activities, safety, environmental and infection control.
