**ROLE**

Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Flow & Scheduling, the Bed Allocator will act as a liaison between admitting and receiving parties, and being responsible for coordinating room utilization care requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

- Minimum Grade 12 education
- One (1)-year Medical Office Administration certificate

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)

- Up to six months’ previous clerical experience in a healthcare setting
- Well-developed keyboarding/computer skills and experience using Meditech and Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability for self-direction and to work independently exercising sound judgment with mínimal supervision
- Effective time management and organizational skills with an ability to work well under pressure, prioritize and manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated initiative, stewardship, and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated excellence in problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent customer focus with demonstrated ability to work well with fellow staff, internal and external customers
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills
- Ability to work in an inter-professional environment
- Ability to multi-task while under pressure

DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION

- Previous Meditech experience preferred
