**Job Title: Journey Carpenter**

**Reports To**: Site Superintendent / Foreman

**Position Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
- Build frameworks such as walls, floors, and doorframes.
- Install windows, doors, drywall, cabinetry, and other finish components.
- Repair or replace damaged structures or fixtures as necessary.
- Work with concrete forms, scaffolding, and rigging.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and other trades as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and secure tools and equipment.
- Train or mentor apprentices and junior carpenters when required.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Carpenter (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or vocational training in carpentry.
- Valid Journeyman certification or Red Seal endorsement (as applicable by jurisdiction).
- Strong knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials.
- Proficient with tools of the trade (e.g., circular saws, levels, chisels, measuring tools).
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for layout and measurement.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, plans, and drawings.
- Good physical condition and stamina.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- OSHA or site-specific safety certifications.
- Experience in both residential and commercial carpentry.
- Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) or CAD is a plus.
- Leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.

**Working Conditions**
- Work is performed on active construction sites and may require working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- May involve lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), standing or kneeling for long periods, and operating heavy equipment.
- Must adhere to strict safety protocols and wear protective equipment at all times.

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
